"The Bayit / Aish Cincinnati" is the campus outreach arm of the Cincinnati Community Kollel. Under the direction of Rabbi Rafi Weinschneider, this project provides Torah study, inspiring retreats, Israel trips, and Shabbat dinners for Jewish students on the campuses of U.C. and Miami U. Several dozen students are currently spending time each week furthering their Jewish knowledge in one-on-one or small class settings. Many others come to seasonal seminars and guest lectures, and with our online Aish Cafˇ, some students continue their Jewish learning back at the dorm as well! Programs are also coordinated with the Hillels and Jewish fraternities on both campuses.
We are proud to have inspired many students to intensify their own Jewish knowledge and practice. For some that has translated into a first pair of tefilin or even a first siddur. For others, trips to Israel to gain tools for better Israel advocacy. And eighteen have immersed themselves in intensive Jewish learning in yeshivot and seminaries!
Shabbat at "The Bayit" is a weekly highlight for many students looking for a "home away from home" where they very comfortably explore and expand their Judaism. Some literally move in to join Rabbi Rafi, his wife Dena, and their adorable children, for the whole Shabbos. Others come for services and/or meals, but all know theyÕll feel welcome whenever they enter the Bayit doors!
The college years are a critical juncture
in the Jewish identity of our youth.
Your support will help us continue our vital work
and secure a Jewish tomorrow for these students.
